Lustrous wool. Dense 3mm pile, with some wear down to knotheads in areas such as centre of large palmettes in main field, as visible in the photograph. These palmettes also have spot areas down to foundation, also visible in image. There is some oxidisation to dark brown especially to border design, and small spot areas lacking foundation for example lower right corner and centre right border. There is also some oxidastion to brown in motifs within main field and border and small re-weaves, such as mauve colour in centre of palmettes to centre of vertical axis. Some small scattered repairs, including repair centre left border approx. 3cm wide old split. Losses at both ends to end guards, now with teased foundation fringe. Neither end overlocked but both with herring bone tape attached to reverse. Both sides with re-overcast side cords. Very pretty rug with lovely colour.
