with inscriptions of selected couplets from a qasidah in praises of Shah Shuja’, ruler of Fars (1358-1384) and attributed to Hafiz, including in atlas-e monaqqash o noh tuy-e zar-negar ,‘This patterned silk and with gilded nine ply’, and dara-ye dahr shah shuja’ aftab-e molk, 'The Darius of the time, Shah Shuja’, the Sun of the Kingdom’

Overall measurements: 203cm across the top, 216cm across the bottom, 291cm along left side, 289cm along right side, (Slightly splayed.) Pile good overall, closely sheared 2-3mm. Some knotbars visible due to warp tension (not wear), for example just visible in left hand ivory border, in ivory medallion, and ivory field left of central medallion.
