Catalogue Note

Barbara Clark, a teenager from Newcastle, won this poster that had been designed by John and Yoko in a Rave magazine competition for the best idea to further the Lennons's Peace Campaign. Clark's inclusive and utopian idea was typical of the time: "My friends and I have started a peace club with people from all over the world. All you have to do is believe, declare yourself, and you're in." Her victory was announced on p.3 of the February 1970 issue of the magazine (included in this lot).
