Condition

This photograph, on double-weight semi-glossy paper, is in generally excellent condition. It exhibits a wide range of tones, from rich, inky black in the sitter's dress to bright, clean highlights in the sitter's fur wrap. Upon very close examination, a thin, diagonal, faint one-inch deposit of indeterminate nature (possibly glass offsetting) is visible in the lower left quadrant. The margin edges are very modestly age-darkened. There are a few faint fingerprints on the reverse of the print. The following is written on the reverse in an unidentified hand in pencil: '230'; '186 / 9-196 [partially crossed out]; 'EHG 211'; and 'PF86719-222.'
