Condition

This early print, with its wide range of mid-tones and detail, is in generally excellent condition. The dark negative edges are visible, as are the negative's sprocket holes along the lower edge. It is on double-weight paper with a surface sheen. Upon extremely close examination, a tiny fibrous adhesion is visible in the lower right quadrant. The margin edges are age-darkened. The tips of the margin corners are bumped, and the lower right margin corner is softly creased. On the reverse of the print, 'JUNE' is written by Frank in ink. Also on the reverse, '1605-I (J)' and 'RF.A.016.5' are written in an unidentified hand in pencil. It is believed that only 10 prints of this image have previously been offered at auction.
