finely carved as Shoulao flanked by a child and a crane, the group standing on lingzhi-shaped cloud swirls, the immortal adorned in long flowing robes decorated with diapered floral designs and auspicious emblems, depicted with his characteristic protruding forehead and an endearingly warm smile, his right hand grasping a lingzhi stem and his left hand holding a long staff with a scroll and a double-gourd suspending from it, the boy similarly dressed in loose flowing robes incised with floral designs, looking up at the immortal and smiling whilst holding a fruiting peach branch over his shoulder, the bamboo of a warm ochre-brown colour
