in sizes, oval with gadroon, shell and foliate rims, the border engraved twice with contemporary arms under earl's coronet, the smaller with later presentation inscription on base, fully marked beneath rims.

Catalogue Note
The arms are those of Bertie impaling Kert, for Montague, 5th Earl of Abingdon, D.C.L., b. 1734, m. in 1807 Emily, daughter of General the Hon. Thomas Gage and sister of Henry 2nd Viscount Gage. She died in 1838 and he married secondly in 1841 Lady Augusta Kerr, 5th daughter of Charlotte, Countess of Antrim. He officiated as cup bearer at the Coronation of George IV and died in 1854.
The later presentation inscription reads "Presented to Miss Hilda Ross by the Staff of 360 Peel Street, Vercheres & St. Annes. on the occasion of her Wedding."
