Condition

This set is stable and each features a recently re-covered and lift-out seat. The chairs are re-blocked and one features a later strengthening bracket to one leg. The painted surface is distressed from age and use. There is evidence of re-painting and re-touching to areas at points of wear and raised areas of carved detail, the gesso and timber is exposed. These chairs have suffered extensively from worm in their long history and this damage is evident. There are losses and chips to some carved detail and there are repairs to the back splat. Some have repairs to the legs and it may be that some legs are replaced, this is difficult to discern though. A chic and good looking set.
