each piece painted with the double crest of Wykeham-Martin of Leeds Castle, Kent, and Chacombe Priory, Northamptonshire, beneath a puce ribbon inscribed with the motto MANNERS MAKYTH MAN, comprising: a circular soup tureen, cover and stand, two circular vegetable tureens and covers, eleven oval platters in three sizes, twelve soup plates and sixty-one dinner plates, most pieces painted with script Chamberlains Worcester mark in iron-red. 91 pieces.

Condition

Some very minor and occasional wear to gilding or scratches to the enamels overall. Otherwise in generally good condition, except: Soup tureen, cover and stand: has an approximate 1-inch flat chip to the footrim, showing as a pinhead chip at the rim edge and a 1/2-inch haircrack running down the side of the rim. The cover: the pine cone knop has been broken from its midpoint and well restored back. Vegetable tureens and covers: One tureen has two approximate 1/4-inch slice chips, one to the underside of each handle, which are not visible from the exterior. Platters: One of the smallest size platters has a small flat chip to the underside of the rim and a restored pinhead rim chip. Another has a small restored rim chip. 12-inch platters (4 of them): two, each with a few minuscule rim chips. Another with two small flat chips to the underside of the rim and anotehr approximate 1/5-inch rimchip. The forth with a tiny slice chips to the rim edge at one dentil and another restored rim chip. None of these chips are disfiguring. 14 1/2-inch platters (2 of them): one with a small rim chip, a small flat chip to the underside of the rim and a pinhead chip to one dentil. The other with two small chips to the rim edge. 16-inch platter with two small restored chips to the rim edge, measuring up to 1/4 inch. The largest platter with two small restored rim chips, also measuring up to 1/4 inch. Soup plates: 10 plates, each with mostly one or more (not more than 4) small restored rim chip/s, or occasionally one or more flat chip/s to the underside of the rim. These chips are less than 1/2-inch long on the dentils and mostly have the appearance of abrasions. They are not disfiguring. Dinner plates: One plate is broken. Another plate has some discolored crazing and two small restored pinhead chips to the rim edge and another with an approximate 1/2-inch long restored area at the rim edge possibly covering a chip; the gilding has worn off and there is a further small restored rim chip. 45 plates, each with mostly one or more (not more than 4) small restored rim chip/s, or occasionally one or more flat chip/s to the underside of the rim. These chips are less than 1/2-inch long on the dentils and mostly have the appearance of abrasions. None of the chips are not disfiguring.
