Condition

Oil on cradled panel. The picture surface is in generally good condition aside from some very minor panel cracks visible along the upper and lower edges. There are a few small, scattered areas of stable lifting in the background: two small areas in the background above his shoulder at right; one in the background to the left of his chest, 4 inches from the left edge; another to the left of his eyes, in the background approximately 1 1/2 inches from the left edge; above his head; and a small area in the nose. Under UV light, four vertical lines of inpainting descend from the top edge and one from the bottom edge, all to address previous panel cracking. An additional vertical line in the proper left arm and a few small scattered spots in the upper right quadrant.
