Condition

Pencil and pastel heightened with gouache on paper. The sheet is unevenly cut and is currently mounted with tape in two places along the top edge. The sheet is on overall very good condition aside from minor rippling and handling creases and some minor abrasions at the extreme edges. Verso, a few spots of discoloration towards the center of the sheet and minor surface dirt. In overall very good condition and ready to hang.

Catalogue Note

Charlotte Williams-Wynn (née Grenville; c. 1754–September 29, 1832) was the daughter of Prime Minister George Grenville (1712-1770), sister of the Marquess of Buckingham and aunt of the 1st Duke of Buckingham. In 1771, she married Sir Watkin Williams-Wynn, 4th Baronet; the couple had 8 children, six of whom lived to adulthood.
