Condition

The porcelain: The female figure's head and both feet have been off and restored back. The garland in her hands has some occasional and minor chips to the edges. The male figure: The edge of his hat is restored with an associated small chip to the brim and there are some flakes to the green enamel. The blue on his jacket is misfired. Both lower ends of his jacket on either end have been broken off and restored back. His left hand is chipped away. There are some very minor and occasional chips to the tips of the flowers, fruit or leaves. Both his feet are restored. The mounts: The gilt-bronze mounts are generally in good order. There are some very slightly mis-shapen elements, which do not detract. The lacquered surface is rubbed to areas of raised detail and there is minor tarnishing to these points. There is residual wax and dirt. These are good quality and vrery decorative. Probably made in Birmingham possibly by a maker such as T.B. Whitfield.
