4to (7 7/8 x 5 3/4 in.; 200 x 145 mm). Title printed in red and black within woodcut border, decorative woodcut initials, headpieces of typographic ornament, six added engraved ownership leaves of which the first with engraved monogram "IE" mounted in center. Contemporary red Parisian morocco, gilt-stamped arms in center panel within laurel wreath and motto "Omnia explorate melior retinete," monogram "IE" stamped at four corners, spine gilt with alternating monogram and winged lion, dentelles, edges gilt.
