Small folio (11 3/8 x 7 1/2 in.; 289 x 190 mm). Woodcut title border, title printed in red and black and ruled in red, the Psalter has a separate dated title-page, margins ruled in red, 3 pages of manuscript additions tipped in to final pastedown; King's name "James" and phrase "our noble Prince Charles" crossed out on leaf B2v with "Charles" written in margin. Contemporary olive morocco, elaborately gilt in a panel design with the arms of Charles I as Prince of Wales in center, the letters "C P" on either side of the arms, surrounded by scrolls and thistles in a field of lilies with four scrollwork cornerpieces, the border filled with roll-tooled scrolls and floral tools, nearly smooth gilt spine in seven compartments, in a brown cloth drop-box; ties gone, a few small mends.
