Together two works in five volumes, 4to (8 7/8 x 6 7/8 in.; 225 x 175 mm). 113 engraved plates and an engraved portrait of Walpole by D.P. Pariset (dated 1768) laid to endpaper in volume 1; occasional light offsetting, light spotting and foxing. Late eighteenth-century red straight-grained morocco, gilt frame on panels, flat spines with gilt ornament. Manuscript revisions and notes of the second edition written on slips of paper in contemporary hand and inserted in each volume at the appropriate places.
