Catalogue Note
A large-paper copy, handsomely bound, of Scarburgh's Euclide. A physician and mathematician, Sir Charles Scarburgh (1616–1694) was an original fellow of the Royal Society. John Evelyn described his library as "the very best collection, especially of mathematical books, that was, I believe, in Europe." This edition of Euclide was published from Scarburgh's manuscript by his son.
