Together two works in four volumes, folio (15 1/2 x 10 1/2 in.; 392 x 250 mm). Engraved frontispiece portrait of the author in each volume, vignette on titles, half-title for each parts, elaborated engraved initials, head- and tailpieces, manuscript ownership inscriptions on first three volumes. Sightly browned, spotting and foxing, stain on title from bookplates laid on verso.
Eighteenth-century red morocco, gilt elaborated frame with fleurons at each corner on panels, spine in seven compartments, the second gilt-lettered, elaborately gilt with tools. The binding for volume 4 is a slightly later imitation of the binding on the first three volumes, with arms of Sir Richard Borough, 1st Baronet, added in the beginning of the nineteenth-century. Bindings rubbed, some joints repaired, others fragile, spines faded, top of spine of volume 3 damaged. Some scratches on panels.
