Four volumes 8vo (9 1/4 x 5 3/4 in.; 238 x 144 mm). Engraved frontispiece portrait of Ariosto in volume 1, forty-six engraved plates with tissue-guards, one at the start of each canto. Some spotting and browning, occasionally affecting plates. Early nineteenth-century red straight-grained morocco gilt, ornamental gilt frame on panels, spines decorated with green morocco stripes inlaid between raised bands, gilt ornaments on spines, blue marbled endpapers; spines very slightly faded.
