The wax impression of the seal in the 1675 edition depicts Christ crucified on an anchor, and was affixed by Walton next to Donne's poem to George Herbert, intended to accompany a gift of one of his seals. The seal employed by Walton was a signet ring with that same emblem, bequeathed to him in Donne's will.
