First edition, first issue, with the uncancelled title-page, dated 1651. Only Olor Iscanus, the first and longest part of this work, is in verse. The other texts reflect Vaughan's interest in science and medicine. Like his twin brother, the alchemist Thomas Vaughan (1622–66), he became a successful medical practitioner. Rare: Evidently the only two complete copies sold at auction for more than forty years are the Berland and Martin–Brett-Smith copies.
