4to (7 1/4 x 5 1/2 in.; 185 x 135 mm). Black letter. Numerous woodcuts of hound breeds, their training and prey in first title, falcons and goshawks in the second with a cut of the Earl of Warwick in full hunting dress, woodcut initials, head- and tailpieces in both. Two leaves of bugle calls remargined in first work; the second with small repair in lower margin of N3 and title imprint shaved. Modern calf, gilt.

Catalogue Note

Both works were first published in 1575, with the cuts reused in these second editions. While Tuberville is often given as the author of both works, The Noble Art of Venerie is actually Gascoigne's adaptation of an edition of Du Fouilloux's La Venerie (1573).
