Catalogue Note
The Table Talk of John Selden was collected by Milward between the author's death in 1654 and 1658, when the dedicatee, Matthew Hale, ceased to be a Judge of the Common Pleas (as he is described in the dedication). The text enjoyed circulation in manuscript during the Restoration period, but was not published until the change in political climate that followed the Glorious Revolution of 1688.
