Thick 4to (7 1/4 x 5 1/8 in.; 184 x 130 mm). Typographic ornament on title, typographic headpieces, decorative woodcut initials, second dated title-page, leaves O7 & O6 bound (in that order) between 2E1 and 2E2 (final blank leaf) making quire O ten leaves; a few marginal dampstains on title and some other leaves, occasional marginal spots and some light browning a bit heavier on the occasional quire, early pagination also added to the "tables." Contemporary blind-ruled calf; rebacked with original spine laid down, corners mended.

Catalogue Note
First edition of the third part, fourth edition of the first and second.
The sequel to Palmerin d'Oliva attributed to Francisco de Moraes, who was Portuguese ambassador to France when he wrote it, and a significant source for Elizabethan dramatists. Rare in the trade, no copy has appeared at auction in the past fifty years. In the Martin sale, the 1639 edition was called "the earliest obtainable" and did not include the third part.
