Catalogue Note

These "Observations" followed Sir Thomas Overbury's travels on the Continent in 1609. At least twelve manuscript copies of the work are known to survive (ODNB). It was entered in the Stationer's Register in 1616, after Overbury's murder had made his name notorious, although no printed edition appeared until 1626.
