Catalogue Note

First English and English-language edition of Churchyard's translation of Meteren's Historia Belgica nostri potissimum temporis (Antwerp, 1598). The work includes an account of Drake and Norris's expedition to Portugal and of the campaigns in the Netherlands in which Sir Philip Sidney, Gascoigne, and Barnaby Rich were engaged, with a full account of Sidney's death at Zutphen.
