Two Latin epigrams ("Flos hominum, [si diis placet] I nunc doctor orbis" and "Dicite, Io Paean: Heroïs vindico dextrâ"), apparently unpublished and unrecorded, in a single hand with revisions to four lines, 1 page, folio (300 x 185 mm), c.1620s; damp staining, minor tears at folds, strengthened. Red morocco-backed folder.

Catalogue Note
These two epigrams were written in praise of the Instauratio Magna, Bacon's ambitious and unfinished work, of which the Novum Organum was the second book. This leaf was formerly in a composite volume of literary works collected by Thomas Price (d.1704), a Roman Catholic, of Llanfyllin, Wales.
