Catalogue Note

First edition.
Political pamphlets against Spain, six years after the destruction of Philip II of Spain's Invincible Armada in 1588, when tensions between England and Spain were the most violent. It is often attributed to Lewes Lewkenor, known to be the author of The Estate of English Fugitives, a polemic attacking the Spanish and the machinations of Catholic clergy.
