Catalogue Note

A letter signed by Stuart Britain's lost prince — Henry, the eldest son of James VI and I — addressed to Sir George Moore, the unwilling father-in-law of John Donne. Moore was employed as the Prince's receiver-general and this warrant is for work in the Royal Park at Woodstock, which was later to be given by the crown to the Duke of Marlborough and forms the site of Blenheim Palace.
