As pleasant as profitable being a right pumice stone, apt to race out idlenesse with delight, and folly with admonition. London: printed by William Stansby for Iohn Smithwicke, and are to bee sold at his shop in Saint Dunstanes Churchyard in Fleete[streete under the Diall, 1631]

Woodcut printer's device on title, woodcut headpiece (that on A3v with cupids), gothic type; imprint cropped, somewhat browned throughout, a few stains and inkspots on title, some marginal soiling and spotting elsewhere. Later calf; rebacked, corners mended.

Seventh? edition. The lively tale of the profligate Francesco who deserts his wife Isabella for a courtesan but eventually returns to her. The rudiments of the first part of the story are drawn from Greene's own desertion of his wife, but the second part is fiction. There is another issue of 1631 with a different headpiece on leaf A3v.
