Catalogue Note

During the Great Frost of 1683–1684, an enterprising printer named George Croom set up a printing press on the frozen waters of the Thames, and distributed this ditty to fair-goers as a souvenir. Scarce: ESTC records only nine copies in British and American institutions, and no copy has sold at auction since 1964.
