Catalogue Note
First edition in English. Poem written by a contemporary of Virgil and Ovid. Wase's commentary includes chapters on "the styles of hunting different from the English, both antique and forreigne" and "the modern authors who have written upon this subject." The first edition in Latin was published in Lyon by Sebastian Gryphius, in 1537.
