Title within a double rule, engraved portrait of the author by William Hole, with final blank leaf; small stains in fore-edge of title, some edge soiling, pen-trials in portrait margins. Contemporary blind-ruled calf, gilt-stamped supralibros on both covers; rebacked with original spine laid down, corners mended, remains of paper label on spine.

First edition, the Earl of Northumberland's copy. Part of the collected poems, the elegy to Henry Reynolds (page 206) mentions Shakespeare (and Daniel, Spenser et alii).
