Folio (11 3/8 x 7 1/8 in.; 290 x 183 mm). Woodcut printer's device on title-page, woodcut headpiece, initials, and initial-frame; occasional light marginal dampstaining, a few tiny wormholes at fore-edge margins of last several gatherings, lower fore-edge corner of E1 torn away, a few pinholes and marginal stains to title-page, a few later marginalia. Contemporary sheep, plain endpapers, and edges; rebacked, rear cover repaired (note by I. A. Shapiro on front free endpaper reads, "This was wholly in its orig binding until war damage to the building in Manchester where it was housed (1940–44) caused the hinges to crack. It was then rebacked with the loss of the first paste-down, but this is the orig free leaf").
