4to (7 3/8 x 5 3/8 in; 188 x 135 mm). Fine engraved frontispiece portrait of Donne by Pieter Lombart, woodcut initials and headpiece, with blanks A1 and Ss4; scattered marginal stains and browning. Contemporary blind-ruled calf, plain endpapers, sprinkled edges; rubbed, spine with some minor repair.

First edition, second issue, with the cancel title-page. This copy belonged to the second Lord Herbert of Cherbury, at whose wedding, 19 November 1627 to Lady Mary Egerton, Donne preached the marriage sermon.
