Catalogue Note
Second edition of the First Anniversarie, incorporating the first edition of the Second Anniversarie. A rather scarce edition, with fewer than ten copies recorded. "An Anatomy of the World … was composed by Donne in memory of Elizabeth Drury, a child of fifteen, whom he had never seen, in the hope of securing the patronage of her father, Sir Robert Drury of Hawstead" (Keynes, p. 171). The first edition of 1611 is known in just three copies.
