Woodcut ornament on title-page, headpieces of printer's ornaments; without the initial blank leaf, small stain touching imprint on title, light dampstain in fore-margin of quire E, fore-edge of last leaf slightly frayed, some light soiling especially to leaf A3, marginal note in fore-margin of leaf H2, side-note on leaf H3 shaved but legible. Nineteenth-century half vellum and marbled boards, gilt-stamped title label on spine; short tear at fore-edge of upper cover, some soiling.

First edition. The story fancifully depicts the historical pirates Ward and Dansiker, focusing on Ward's eventual ruin after his conversion to Islam. The author is known to have collaborated several times with Field and Massinger, but the present is one of only two of his plays which survive.
