Eight folio volumes, 1668-1689, including the first edition, the first printing of Parts 2 and 3 together (viz. the sixth edition of Part 2 and the first edition of Part 3) bound after the 1688 edition of the Works, and separate bound copies of Part 2 (1681) and Part 3 (1689), a presentation copy from Cowley's brother, all in contemporary bindings (four in calf; four in morocco with gilt Cambridge-style paneling). The complete collected works all contain an engraved frontispiece portrait of Cowley by William Faithorne while the parts have Cowley's funerary stele engraved by Robert White.

In this edition (Wing conflates the two 1668 imprints), title-page has "Press."; crossed "W" in "Works" in title and "Walk" in imprint; signature "B" is under "ru" of "rubore," woodcut device on title-page, three separate title-pages for The Mistresse, Pindarique Odes, and Davideis, a Sacred Poem with continuous register but separate pagination, An Account of the Life and Writings of Mr Abraham Cowley signed "T. Sprat" at the end, errata on final leaf but corrected in the text; quires 2I and 2K browned. Speckled calf; upper joint cracked.
