Three works bound in one volume, folio (11 3/8 x 7 3/4 in.; 290 x 197 mm). Contemporary calf paneled in blind, central lozenge, the spine in six compartments with raised bands, one lettering piece, leather in fifth compartment peeling, wear to upper joint, ties perished.

Historie of Philip de Commines: Title within architectural woodcut border with royal arms above and crest of the dedicatee Lord Burghley atop a bee skep below (McKerrow & Ferguson 140), dedication signed in type by the translator, Thomas Danett, woodcut initials, printer's ornaments, printer's woodcut device of Time attacked by Calumny with motto "Veritas filia temporis" (McKerrow 306) employed five times, 17 genealogical tables in quires 2K–2L, errata leaf at the end.

Edward Hoby]. The Historie of France: The Foure First Bookes. London: Printed by John Windet [colophon: Dwelling at Powles Wharfe at the Signe of the Crosse Keyes, and Are There to Be Soulde], 1595. Title within woodcut border (McKerrow & Ferguson 140), woodcut headpieces and initials, printer's woodcut device with motto "Thou Shalt Labor for Peace Plenty" (McKerrow 292); minor marginal staining at the end.
