4to (7 1/8 x 5 1/8 in.; 180 x 129 mm). Black letter (with roman and italic). Title within a historiated woodcut border (McKerrow & Ferguson 125), woodcut initials; title-page extended with a tiny portion of outer woodcut rule in facsimile, title and following 3 leaves remargined and reinforced at top, π4 with some further minor restoration, including repair to punched-through catchword, tiny rust hole to E1 touching two letters, minor repair to lower margin of H5, tiny paper flaw to H6 restored, scattered foxing. Red morocco by Rivière, covers paneled in gilt and blind, spine gilt in compartments, plain endpapers, gilt edges; extremities lightly rubbed.

Second edition. The second and fourth preliminary leaves are foliated 107 and 118 respectively, probably indicating that the preliminary leaves were the last printed, as often. Rare: this is the only copy to appear at auction in fifty years.
