Three volumes, 4to (102 1/2 x 7 in.; 265 x 180 mm). Forty-four full-page engraved or lithographed plates many of which are mounted, many smaller mounted engravings, woodcut text illustrations, many of them on India paper; a very occasional tiny marginal spot, light foxing on some of the mounted engravings, some offsetting of plates. Contemporary gauffered calf, large gilt fillets on panels and spines; joints fragile and scuffed, repaired on first volume.
