Oblong broadsheets (17 7/8 x 23 in.; 454 x 584 mm). Forty fine hand-colored plates after Samuel Howitt (from sketches by Williamson) by H. Merke, J. Hamble, and Vivares; title-page and a few other preliminary leaves with vertical crease, plate I (frontispiece) with full vertical tear repaired and with portion of upper margin restored, plate XVII with two inch stain on image, scattered marginal spotting and browning usually not affecting images. Contemporary red morocco gilt; worn, spine and edges darkened.
