4to (10 3/8 x 5 7/8 in.; 263 x 147 mm). Title (or printer's device), fourteen leaves of introductory text, eighty leaves of woodcut illustrations and ornamental printed frames (probably originally double leaves that were cut and trimmed when bound); first leaf smaller and on different paper, holes in inner margin from original Chinese binding, some light foxing, little tear on lower right corner of last leaf, not affecting the illustration. Late eighteenth-century straight-grained English red morocco, gilt border, gilt lettered "Chinese Habits," Alexander Davison's gilt crest on spine.
