(Buddhist manuscript)

A black-ground manuscript of the seminal Buddhist text, the condensed Prajñaparamita Sutra (“Perfection of Wisdom”), in 8,000 lines (5 ½ x 22 ½ in.; 139 x 571 mm). Minor chips and wear to wood cover, with rubbing and losses to gilt-lacquer throughout. Manuscript with minor losses, tears and puncture holes consistent with age. 
Together with a carved wooden manuscript cover, with traces of gilt-lacquer throughout.
