modelled as a lady's head wearing a ruffled cap tied with a green ribbon, the later French gold hinged mount inscribed in white enamel L'AMOUR ET LES RIPPE JOUENNE SUR SON VISAGE and set with a moss agate cover, the mount with maker's mark CV in a lozenge, last quarter 19th century, and gold control eagles mark. Together with a similarly-modelled Chelsea silver-gilt-mounted patch box, the interior painted with scattered flower sprays, the later hinged silver cover engraved with strapwork. 2 pieces.

Condition

Bonbonnière: there is an approximate 1-in. fine haircrack running up from the edge on one side. Patch box: there is a small filled chip to the edge issuing a fine haircrack running from the edge at the top of the head into the edge of the forehead.
