A large Meissen gilt-metal-mounted wine cooler 19th century

probably outside-decorated, boldly painted on the exterior with flower sprays and on the interior with fish, set with shell-form porcelain handles and later applied gilt-metal handles, cancelled crossed swords mark in blue, incised A 176 and impressed numeral 33.

There is a 1.5 by 1 inch chip to the exterior rim. There is some wear to the gilding on the rim edge. Several minor chips around the edge of the base and a large chip to the inner edge of the foot. The original porcelain handles have been chipped away leaving only the shell terminals and the cooler has been fitted with later gilt metal replacement handles. gilding is mostly rubbed away the handles.
