Description
- PORCELAIN
each piece painted with scattered blue cornflower sprigs within a gilt-edged rim, comprising: a pair of ice pails and covers, two oval vegetable dishes and covers, an oval tureen, two 16 1/4-inch oval platters, two 15 1/2-inch oval platters, two 14 1/8-inch oval platters, eight 11 3/8-inch oval platters, a footed two-handled tray, three shell-shaped dishes, thirty-three dinner plates, seventeen soup plates, thirteen dessert plates, four salad plates, and four sugar bowls and covers, some with various incised numerals. 102 pieces.
Condition
There is some occasional and varying degrees of wear to the gilding as well as varying degrees of scratching to the enamels, consistent with use. All in generally good condition, except:
Ice pails and covers: Both are lacking their liners. Both covers have restoration to knobs; one has further extensive restoration to the rim edge, possibly covering break/s. One pail has two long haircracks running down the rim, which have been restored; approximately 3/4 of the rim's circumference has restoration, possibly covering further small chips.
Vegetable dishes and covers: One cover ha a minuscule chip to the underside of the rim.
16 1/4-inch platters: One has an approximate 1-inch chip to the footrim.
15 1/2-inch platters: One has an approximate 1 1/2-inch footrim chip.
11 3/8-inch platters: One has an approximate 1-inch chip to the footrim.
Dinner plates: 4, each with a haircrack running in the center or in the cavetto area. 15 plates, each with one or more footrim chips, not visible from the exterior. 3, each with one or more rim chips. 2, each with a haircrack and a footrim chip.
Soup plates: 5, each with one or two rim chips. 5, each with one or more footrim chips of varying sizes. 2, each with one or two short haircracks running down the rim,
Dessert plates: 3, each with a rim chip. 2, each with a short haircrack running down the rim and one plate with a pinhead chip to the cavetto area.
Side plates: One with two very small footrim chips.
Sugar bowls and covers: One bowl has the upper terminal of one handle broken off and glued back. One cover has an approximate 2 1/2-inch haircrack running upwards from the rim edge and one bowl has an approximate 1 1/2-inch haircrack running down the rim.
