Description

  • length of teapot stand 8 in.

comprising: a bough pot and cover with a black-ground panel painted with a flower arrangement; a mug painted with a continuous flower garden below an oval panel inscribed with the date, 1809, and the initials, HC; a Bloor Derby turquoise-ground taperstick; a teapot stand painted with a flower meander; a lilac jasper potpourri basket and cover; an apple green-ground small tureen, cover and fixed stand, and two small tulip-form candlesticks. 11 pieces.

Condition

Bough pot and cover with a black-ground panel painted with a flower arrangement: Both the cover and the pot are extensively restored covering breaks and haircracks. The bough pot has a small restored rim chip issuing a haircrack running down the rim. The restorations are old. Mug painted with a continuous flower garden below an oval panel: the handle has been off and restored back. There is some rubbing to gilding along the rim edges. Bloor Derby turquoise-ground taperstick: There is a 4 inch by 1 inch section at the rim that has been broken into two pieces and glued back and some very minor rubbing to gilding. Otherwise in good condition. Teapot stand painted with a flower meander: there is some minor discolored crazing and very minor wear to the enamels, consistent with use. Lilac jasper potpourri basket and cover: There is a short, 1/2-inch firing crack on the cover near the knob. the basket's one end of the handle has been detached from the body with an associated small chip to the end. Apple green-ground small tureen, cover and fixed stand: there are two small rim chips to the cover. The tureen has an approximate 1-inch rim chip and another approximate 1/4-inch flat chip to the rim edge that has been glued back. There is a further pinhead chip to the rim on the tureen. Otherwise in good condition. Two small tulip-form candlesticks: One has restoration to two petals of the tureen, covering chips. Both have some very minor rubbing to the gilding.
