- 50.8 cm and 53.3 cm
each modelled standing on an orb, 'Night' wearing flowing dark cloak and a gold crown of stars, 'Day' wearing a pink drapery and sun rays in his hair, mounted on gilt metal bases.
Condition
Please note that the figures have not been examined beneath the mounts. Night: One of the silver stars on his head is has a small chip to the edge and a gold star has a minuscule chip. Otherwise in good condition. Day: There is some minor restoration to a few curling ends of her hair, which are very well restored.There are some occasional minor chips or losses to the edges of flowers and leaves she is holding. All three sun rays on her crown are restored. The restoration is very well done. The bird's right wing has been and further broken at the tip and restored back, with some associated minuscule chips.There is a small chip to the bird's beak. There is restoration to the branch it is perched upon and some several further small chips.There are several restored chips to the petals of the sunflower and edges of the leaves, which are all very well restored.
