Oil on canvas, unlined. The canvas is very relaxed on the stretcher and exhibits some movement. There is rippling in the canvas, with especially evident horizontal bumping along the lower edge and horizontally through the center of the work. There are small scattered spots of loss along these bumped areas, as well as in the lower right corner, the tree, and the landscape at lower center. There is also a small area of loss near the upper edge above the tree. There are a few areas of discolored retouching, notably in the sky above the field workers and two spots above the tree at upper left. In overall untouched condition.
