Condition
Pile ranges form near original, 1/6in. to low to knotheads in areas of scattered foldwear throughout. Foundation weak in areas. Left side with a approximately 6in. repaired fireplace slits where old folded-under fireplace area is very slightly more vibrant in color; only visible on close examination. Some scattered repling, most in lower left corner of carpet. Scattered stains overall. Some small areas of glue residue on reverse. Upper end with an approx. 10in. by 5in. and an approx. 4in. by 10in. moth damage areas, both with fraying, losses to pile, exposed foundation and losses. Probably missing outer guard borders on all four sides. Sides reselvaged with some light color runs from the selvage to the minor border. Ends secured with a blanket stitch. Supple handle, good Louis XVI-inspired design.
